Ruth turned 6!

Ruth turned 6 this month and wanted an Elsa birthday.  We kept things super low key this year.  As always, I took her pictures.  We went to the museum center the day before her birthday to take them.  She wore her Elsa shirt and Wisdom wore her shirt with Elsa and Anna on it.  They had adorable coordinating gingham petti-skirts. We lucked into a Reds mustache thanks to it being All Star Week. :)

After some great pictures outside, we headed inside... to the Ice Cave exhibit, of course!

Once we had some good shots in their super cute outfits it was time for Ruth to become Elsa!

Oh, and make Olaf too.

After pictures were done we had some play time.

I had big plans to edit some of the pictures, but finding a snowflake on a transparent background proved impossible.  At least with my limited time frame. :(  I did manage to edit her into a scene from the movie!  Not too bad I guess.

The day of her birthday was had some friends meet us at the little water park in our town (free for residents!)  I made cupcakes for everyone to enjoy and then we went and played in the sprinklers and slides.  No decorations, no goody bags, just cupcakes and the water park. Super easy, and super cheap! Double score!

Ruth lost her first tooth!!!

After months and months of anticipation, it FINALLY came out!!!  Ruth lost her first tooth on July 4th of all days!  The culprit...corn on the comb.  We lucked into a free pig roast on the parade route on the Fort Mitchell parade route where we stopped to see the parade.  She wrote a note out to the tooth fairy, who wrote a note in return and left $3.  All of which was covered in gold glitter!
The tooth!

The hole...

We also attended the Peaselburg parade that morning.  I have some pictures from that parade!

We also do some swimming on the 4th :)

Labels

As humans I think we all have a need to label things....
Perfect...
I'll take that one thank you very much!
Haa...No not really...
But seriously, as a Christian, many people say that's what we claim to be when we claim to be a Christian.  This couldn't be farther from the truth.  Upon becoming a Christian, a true Christian, you must first admit you are a SINNER.  Yep THAT word, that judgy judgy word. The Bible tells us we are all sinners, no one, I repeat no one, is perfect. To be a true Christian, you must pray to God, confess you are a sinner and that Jesus died on the cross to forgive those sins.  You then must accept Jesus as your savior, that he died for you, to forgive you.  This, in turn, facilitates a desire to please God and follow His laws, to strive to be perfect in the eyes of God and His laws.  We know this is impossible, but what a goal to strive for.  In doing this we commit to hate sin, just like God does.  All sin...We don't get to pick and choose which sin we don't like.  All sins are equal in God's eyes.  Lying, stealing, adultery, premarital sex, drunkenness, gambling, having children out of wedlock, cursing, homosexuality, divorce, gluttony, impure thoughts....I could go on.  I don't know about you, but I think I'm guilty of at least a handful on this list.  So, yeah, I'm far from perfect.  But until the day I die I will fight for God's law even if I find myself guilty.  I will fight against sin with every breathe.  You will not see me celebrating sin...no way.

So that brings me to recent events.  Watching people all over the U.S. celebrating the latest "victory".  You won't see me participating.  I will back out in quiet meditation,  "Lord please forgive them for they know not what they do".  You can't expect non-Christians to was to follow God's law.  What you do behind closed doors is between you and God.  However, do not expect me to pat you on the back for it, or to celebrate it.  If my views have you label me a bigot, then so be it.  Most of my views would render negative labels from the liberals on the left.  You can call me an idiot, bigot, hater, birther, racist, sexist ... you get the idea.  I don't care what you label me.  If following God's laws gets me labeled a bigot, then I wear it with pride.  Your judgement on me means nothing.

I much prefer to remind myself of God's labels for me...
Chosen
Loved
Forgiven
Redeemed
Protected

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!

I fully believe the time of great persecution is right around the corner.  False Christians will be flushed out, and true Christians will stand out.  It's getting harder and harder to stick to God's laws in this world and in the U.S. I feel like my family has already suffered consequences.  I applied for a job a little while ago and the topic of homosexuality came up.  Why would this even need to come up?  I believe the devil was trying to get me to compromise.  I did not, I dug in my heals.  Working on Sundays was also presented at the interview, which I will not do.  Needless to say, I did not get the job.  It had been a long time since I felt like the Lord was really guiding me to make a certain decision.  He made it clear I was not to take the job if offered.  I fully believe God will take care of me and my family.  As this world throws nasty labels as us for following His laws, we are His, and He will take care of us.
